emails,
and scam communications.
4. Contact Your Exchange
Exchanges may help trace
where stolen Bitcoin moved,
especially if it reaches another regulated platform.
Important:
Bitcoin transactions cannot be reversed.
This immutability is intentional
and is part of Bitcoin's security model.
Bitcoin Recovery Scams
Warning:
Many so-called
"Bitcoin recovery services"
are scams.
They request upfront payments,
promise guaranteed recovery,
and then disappear.
No legitimate service can guarantee Bitcoin recovery.
If someone promises guaranteed recovery
in exchange for a fee,
it is almost certainly fraudulent.
How to Protect Yourself Going Forward
Write Down Your Seed Phrase
Store your seed phrase on paper —
never digitally.
Use Secure Storage
Keep backups in a fireproof safe
or secure physical location.
Never Share It
No legitimate company or support team
will ever ask for your seed phrase.
Use Hardware Wallets
For larger Bitcoin holdings,
hardware wallets provide stronger protection.
