How to Check a Bitcoin Transaction in Canada

Track your Bitcoin with confidence. Learn how to verify every transaction on the blockchain in Canada.

Every Bitcoin transaction is recorded publicly on the blockchain. You can verify any transaction — including one you just made on 1Bitcoin.ca — using a free blockchain explorer.

Step-by-Step: Check Your Bitcoin Transaction

Step 1: Find Your Transaction ID (TXID)
Your transaction ID is provided by 1Bitcoin.ca after your purchase. It looks like this:

`3a4b5c6d7e8f9a0b1c2d3e4f5a6b7c8d9e0f1a2b3c4d5e6f7a8b9c0d1e2f3a4b`

You can also find it in:
- Your 1Bitcoin.ca account transaction history
- Your Bitcoin wallet's transaction list
Step 2: Open a Blockchain Explorer
Go to one of these free tools:
- mempool.space — most detailed for Bitcoin
- blockchain.com/explorer — simple and user-friendly
- blockchair.com — supports multiple currencies
Step 3: Enter Your Transaction ID
Paste your TXID into the search box and press Enter.
Step 4: Read the Transaction Status
You'll see:
- Unconfirmed: Transaction is in the mempool, waiting to be included in a block
- Confirmed (1): Included in one block — generally safe for small amounts
- Confirmed (3+): Fully settled — standard for larger amounts

Understanding Confirmation Times

Bitcoin transactions typically confirm within 10-60 minutes. Factors that affect speed:

Network congestion: High activity means longer waits
Fee paid: Higher fees = priority in the queue
Time of day: Busier times have more congestion

If Your Transaction Shows as Unconfirmed

This is normal, especially during busy periods. The transaction will confirm automatically — you don’t need to do anything.

If it’s been more than 24 hours unconfirmed, contact help@1bitcoin.ca with your TXID.
